We're celebrating 250 years of Jane Austen today! These timeless classics have had many publications, and there are even some accessable retellings aimed for children, introducing them to this beloved author and fostering a life-long love for her beloved novels.

On this day in 1775 Jane Austen was born.

During her own lifetime, Austen had to write anonymously and for 12 years after she died her books were completely out of circulation!

Over the centuries she has become one of the most famous British novelists of all time.
