Four unvaccinated people have died in this measles outbreak so far.

Reminder: We are not at war with Venezuela. The people deported are not enemies. The law in question should not apply. Among the most dangerous aspects of the SCOTUS ruling is the idea that the president and his people have the right to arbitrarily determine who our enemies are.

Near the moment Booker crossed the finish line, he alluded to the fact that, as a Black lawmaker, his very presence on the floor was a direct defiance of Thurmond’s 24-hour plus effort to fight Civil Rights.

Every organization that cares about the health of Americans should be up in arms. The opposition to RFK Jr, by leading medical and public health organizations is tepid at best. We need new leadership. Our own orgs are failing us. @arghavansallesmd.medsky.social @germhuntermd.bsky.social
Every medical organization should be up in arms. Our whole profession is being attacked. If you’ve seen a statement from any medical organization decrying what is being done, please share below.

IDSA’s statement is linked in @germhuntermd.bsky.social’s thread here.
@idsainfo.bsky.social :

We & the American public need your leadership

Urging members to write congressional representatives + behind-the-scenes quiet diplomacy is inadequate

You must put out a strong, unequivocal statement condemning the assault on public health happening before our eyes
