Antoni Tàpies was a Catalan painter who became one of the most famous European artists of his generation. In the 50's he was part of the group Dau al Set that had strong ties to Surrealism. and was influenced by Ernst, Klee and Miró.

The House has defeated a GOP plan to censure Del. Stacey Plaskett D-VI and kick her off the House Intelligence Committee. 6 Republicans refused to go along with the plan - and those were the key votes.
