Morning movie. 1937. First time seeing this bittersweet masterpiece. That last half is incredibly endearing and makes your heart ache in the final seconds. What a film. @criterion.bsky.social

Got to see this gem in 4k on the big screen. Finishing up a year long dive into Kurosawa at my local theater (Ran, Ikiru, Rashomon, and finally Seven Samurai). Great crowd. There’s no one like Mifune.
