Not quite a brown shrike, prior appointment stopped me twitching, but great to watch this Hobby (and briefly a second bird) in Cardiff today. Generally perched but moved the second it saw a butterfly. Magpies went from being ok with it to chasing it off for some reason.

After missing it at seaton on Saturday amazing to have this marsh sandpiper turn up practically on the doorstep Sunday night. Second British tick in a week for a good start to the autumn

One of my main wildlife goals this year was to photograph 250 species of birds. Not always well admittedly, but finished it off this weekend with a yellowhammer.

Nice to catch up with White Letter hairstreaks from penarth railway bridge but shooting up into a bright sky wasn't ideal. Preferred this Hummingbird hawkmoth.
