@michaelt1979.bsky.social is on fire today!
It's interesting that 75% passing Reading tests is a sign of a great success in phonics and reading teaching, but 72% passing Writing is a sign that we need a "first step towards transforming" writing teaching

Very useful thread for music leads and assembly organisers - a whole range of musical pieces to share
@michaelt1979.bsky.social now then, sir. In 2019, you used the other place to ask, "Has anybody already built up a small repertoire of PowerPoint with key music pieces and summaries for use coming into assemblies?" If you remember, that inspired me to create some PowerPoints.

It reminds me of Bertrand Russell’s quote: ‘The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure, while the intelligent are full of doubt’ (1933).
Always astounded by the confidence some have.

Personally the longer I’ve been headteacher the less confidence I have in advising others, yet I would also say I am a much better leader now than I’ve ever been.

Indeed!
Excellent unsolicited advice.
Six years ago, literally nobody asked me what my advice would be for new teachers starting in September.

So I told them.

And now, years later, still nobody has asked me.

So here it is again
