I'm a vinyl fan but some of the pricing for this stuff is a bit ridiculous... I know it's all remastered and on high quality 180g vinyl, but still...
(I got the 1979 New Years Concert discs for a fiver at Notting Hill)

And the famous pictures of him composing in his fancy hat. I'll devote a whole evening of programming just to that, naturally - and a clip show with celebrity talking heads saying how great his works were (after showing them a 10 second clip beforehand that they'll talk about).

As the shops have already started playing Christmas music guess it's not too early to start becoming obsessed with this again 😁

The quality of these restorations stills astonishes me (as do the performances themselves!).
Great box set full of glories.

Once if you wanted to listen to the Ring at home you had to get through 16 LPs, or sets of several operas in one box set could be 18 or 19 records, really heavy box sets.... Wagnerites in the 60s and 70s must've been truly hench 💪

The Monday Film - a Herzog classic, possibly his masterpiece. You're not a real opera fan until you've hauled a ship over a mountain in the Andes to fund the building of an opera house. (And playing as a tribute to dear Claudia C.)

Ordered three CDs - one from Holland, one from Germany and one from the UK. They all arrived today. A comment on how good/bad the postal service is here/there?

So glad they've included Mozart's biggest hit single on here...

Don't know if anyone's noticed, or if I've mentioned this before now, but Wagner is bloody brilliant isn't he?

Worth catching....

Do love coming home to a parcel of CDs 😎 I mostly stream these days, like everyone else, but if I really like something I'll buy the CD and only listen to the CD. Keep physical media alive!

Another year around the sun. By the time Mozart was my age...he'd been dead for many years! 😕

Nice to be back at the Berlin Philharmonie again after so many years...
I wish! Actually the Digital Concert Hall, and Barenboim still has plenty of energy in his conducting of Schubert and Beethoven. 👏
