Yeah, it feels like bolding or italics work better for emphasis in English. I'm also a sucker for text effects.

Content is pretty subjective anyway though.
Working Designs Lunar? 🚮, the un-working designs versions were eye-opening.
The Dragon Quest DS SQEX localizations? Fantastic, made me fall in love with the series. From what I've been told, they've taken liberties (e.g., accents, naming)

On "anti-preservation", it kinda also speaks to the public perception impact of a first/most easily accessible translation of a release... if it's poorly done or riddled with subjective shenanigans, I'd consider that transformative (derogatory).

Good question tbh.
Whenever we did a release of the Medarot stuff, preserving the original Japanese terms for things, we also pushed out a Medabots version with terms from the prior localization work... is a loc like that transformative? Was the original preservation...?

Yeah, it seems OK for releases but I wonder if there's a good replacement for the forums as a hub for technical discussion.

Since he mentioned games being playable only on virtual console as sad, I saw it as a concern about the mediums constantly evolving/changing compared to film/video.
Just feels like a stance of "how to most effectively propel IP forward" and film being a more logical medium. IMO, both are great.

You could argue that a this isn't particularly valuable in GB games where you often only see two lines of text at a time and I would argue that you're just a hater who doesn't believe in aesthetics.

Medarot 1 and 3 actually did dynamic line breaks to handle variable text, and it somewhat defeats the purpose to assume the longest length string, so hmm, I may have to consider how to implement this...
