To be fair. “Silence is violence” is a thing I’ve heard from people on the left but I think that’s mostly because it rhymes and not meant to be so literal. Probably means more along the lines of staying silent in the face of immorality is complicity in or acceptance of that immorality

Far less***

You’re not wrong about the second part…but the amount of denialism I’ve seen from the online left about October 7th is abhorrent. These are the same people who wouldn’t think twice about whether Brett Kavanaugh or Donald Trump raped someone (with hat less evidence),but can’t believe militants would?

It is not realistic or sustainable for every single government program to constantly promote itself to the public. The clear villain in the DOGE immiseration campaign is the right. We don't need to play into their attacks by implying that we deserve it.

No one is calling Ezra Klein right wing! I generally like Ezra's work. I simply think that this framing of the issue is far too common when the empirical dynamics are so clear. Why are the "bluesky won't do debate" people so allergic to actual debate?

Trump isn’t the product of overt populism.

He’s the product of Russian disinformation, tech bro greed, and faux Christian fascists…

And oh yeah, don’t forget the internet.

America has an education problem and a severe inability to focus on reality.

Walk down any street. Were completely insane.

The left has said such things. Defund the police. Eat the rich. Tax the rich etc. maybe sloganeering just works better on less educated or informed audiences.

The right also makes their content wildly entertaining for their side. Another issue is that sloganeering may work better for the right than the left. I’m not a fan of campaign by sloganeering. It doesn’t excite me. I always end up thinking ok and? But? Explain. The left expects further explanation
