it's boring how much mainstream contemporary art is (ostensibly) a critique of the art world through direct participation with the art world, benefitting solely those already deeply entrenched within the art world.

Make art that you think is fuckin sick as hell. Make the shit you never thought you could that you always wanted to see. Beat your insecurity to death and fight to become your own favorite artist.

Afu Chan is easily one of the coolest and most creative character designers I have ever seen. Been a huge fan of his for years. Please givem' a follow.

replies felt weirdly discouraged on twitter (at least to me) but I really recommend getting back into the habit of telling artists directly when you like their stuff. not even in an engagement farming way, it just feels nice. nobody's day is going to be worse hearing that you like their work

Someone on Twitter decided to use AI to "finish" that painting and that was the moment I knew humanity needed to be rebooted.
but there is an end to it, an eventual acceptance of grief, and it's one of the most beautiful paintings in human history: '89's unfinished painting.

his body of work, like this work itself, is complete regardless of how "complete" it appears. the reality of life is that it will be cut short.
