It's very VERY common to have co-branded credit cards in JP for things you wouldn't expect. The Pompompurin and Chainsawman credit cards are personal favorites.

it's wild how quickly "I'm a non-partisan centrist" turns into "I'm a far right apologist" at the slightest inconvenience.

Restrictions around the new Stripe OnRamp are kinda goofy.

Nice docs though.

The TikTok moderation system is still a bizarre unknown to me. You'll see the most heinous racist and xenophobic comments posted with "no violation found" responses posted. But as soon as you're critical of the Apache Foundation, that's a step too far, for both automation and manual reviewers.

Fairly sure I've found the server that the logs are being pushed to, and unfortunately, it has a wide open Postgres instance, an FTP server running on it, and resolves to a single IP in Israel (hosted by IGLD) - still investigating

Yes, the credentials are actively being used to bundle the log archive that's sent off to the remote servers.

Yeahhhhh, so one of their subdomains (not hard to find which one) is running on a server with a completely public and unencrypted Postgres instance...

Following up on that, the domain resolves to an IP in Tel Aviv
May 3, 2025 at 11:55 PM
Had a brief look through the source, interesting domains that they're sending the archives to...

Starting to get the urge to get back into doing project write-ups with some of the stuff I've been experimenting with over the last few weeks.

Latest project, composing and marshalling 1000 transactions per response and hitting 5.2k rps on a single 0.25 VCPU instance 👀

Not necessarily needed here as it's only one field, but as you expand it, you can use struct inheritance to share the common struct values between the two, keeps things DRY 🤙

Watching @hellopeter.dev from afar, increasing in velocity, rapidly approaching the thought of "sure, I'll try setting up Kubernetes, it can't be *that* bad", followed by the 90 degree learning curve

- On create/update instead of `var` and passing a ptr you can init as a ptr with

p := new(Post)
c.BindJson(p)

- Instead of actually deleting, its good practice to soft-delete by setting a deleted at timestamp and on your queries filtering them out

My low tier conspiracy is that someone/thing is using @flightradar24.com for covert communications.

Every time I look in the evenings, for the last few months, there have been an odd number of ground vehicles in the most tracked section and they're *always* at Amsterdam Schiphol.

Looking forward to Americels ranting about gas prices are going up.

$182.22bn petroleum and $90.13bn cars/trucks imported in 2022.

By comparison refined petroleum was the US' largest export ($138bn) with 39.9% of that going to Canada and Mexico.
