I went to someone’s house where they don’t even have the salt and pepper. A condiment free house.

Same, in Australia in the 80s- we had “boy germs” and “girl germs”. The germs were transmitted through even fleeting contact during a game of ‘catch and kiss’, which from recollection never included any actual kissing because that risked mutual contagion.

I was thinking of you and your family. Take care of yourself and each other.

Someone else’s replies is not somewhere to get into the type of policy debate that requires long detailed explanations and citations. And no, my example above very much does relate to commonwealth agencies and commonwealth funded programs.

One example - the ramping up of ‘digital first’ policies to such an extent that there are agencies which have become ‘digital only’ in practical terms. When this occurs against an overall reduction in generalist community services (e.g. neighbourhood centres) over decades consequences can be dire.

Every dollar that the Feds refuse to spend on their primary health, aged care and NDIS responsibilities leads to somewhere between $1.40 and $7.50 of expenditure required in the hospital system because of that $1.00 decision, depending upon the hospital. This is not new. We already know this.

DM me if it’s not a rhetorical question. I deal with this stuff a lot at work.

Even chicken pox isn’t that simple. Kids who get chicken pox might recover relatively well, children whose mothers got chicken pox while pregnant not so much. Congenital Rubella Syndrome can cause serious, life long disability.
