🚨 The petition to save the CBC at ProtectTheCBC.ca is quickly approaching 90,000 signatures!

Canadians are speaking out against Pierre Poilievre’s dangerous plan to shut down the CBC if he’s elected on Monday.

If you haven’t signed yet, add your name today and stand up for public broadcasting. ✍️🇨🇦

Every scientist, long before they were a scientist, was a little kid who stood in front of a fish tank or stared up at the stars or turned over a rock to look at the bugs underneath and said “wow”. On the best days, working in science still feels like that.

If you want to be assured you're getting the real deal, you can check out Knit with Purpose and Cheryl's Trading Post. Both are indigenous-owned and -led operations with indigenous knitters.

Someone recently asked me what's the point of having two or three buttons on a tailored jacket if the bottom-most button isn't meant to be fastened? It's easier to understand style if you think of it in terms of social language, not purely as function. Let me give you some examples. 🧵

You work around here long enough you start thinking things like, "I've seen every toaster," but you have to remember that life is full of the unexpected.
NEW: The Pop-Tart Bowl trophy is back and better than ever ... it is now a fully functional toaster trophy!

Pop-Tart partnered with GE Appliances to build this one-of-a-kind toaster trophy. It is about 1.3x the size of a normal football + can toast full-size Pop-Tarts.

This craftwork was made by: @wendyenthomas.bsky.social
It was sent to me without attribution on another platform and I posted it here because it's excellent without knowing who'd made it. Gratefully, more than one person on Bsky identified the artist who did. Please repost this.
