for most people it doesn't do anything, for trans people it creates fear of the government and doctors, and for trans children it ruins lives

(i know neither of those are super high effort but they're more than i was doing otherwise)

and yet allowing their wealth to concentrate at the top so much condemns most of them to a much worse quality of life - an example is of course their failed healthcare system compared to those of the developed world

maybe it's the american dream itself that is holding them back - their weak government allows the wealthy few to suck the masses dry and prevent any meaningful improvement in quality of life, because they believe in a country where anyone who's smart enough and works hard enough can make it

(to be clear i'm using "woke places" in a non-derogatory sense just to mean communities which are welcoming of minorities, which i like because i prefer not experiencing racism to experiencing racism)

tbc he has a very limited defense of the article and he understood the issue when we explained, i guess it's just crazy to me that we have woke places full of people who haven't actually challenged social norms which cause discrimination, but just try to appease minorities on a surface level

the other day i had a friend try and defend a racist article by a racist because the article basically said "it's not their fault they're worse" and apparently my friend just can't recognise racism beyond mask off kkk types, which i never realised because otherwise he's known what not to say
