Tim Cywinski For Congress
@votetimva.com
Reformist Democrat Running for Congress in Virginia’s 1st District. No corporate cash. No strings attached. Just a belief that people deserve A New Way Forward.
I was recently on a panel on the harms of reckless data center growth (I was there for my job in environmental justice, not as a candidate).

No amount of 💰 from Big Tech is worth hurting communities. It’s why I've fought them so hard in Va, and why I will fight for accountability in Congress.

If we want a more inclusive future, we have to start by hearing the people living it every day.

This roundtable is about visibility, dignity, community, and action.

Big Tech’s data centers are draining our water, polluting our air, and driving up electric bills — all without any accountability or transparency.

I’ve fought back with communities in Va (and won). I’ll do it again in Congress.

It’s time for leaders who prioritize people over Big Tech profits.

Republicans like Wittman love to pretend they love our country, but there’s nothing patriotic about tax breaks for billionaires while families can’t afford basic care.

Real patriotism is believing America can do better — that we can take care of every person in this country with dignity & fairness.

Trump & Rob Wittman uphold a system built on corporate greed & political games.

But Virginia just proved that decency still matters, democracy still works, and people are ready for a new way forward.

I’m fighting for a system that works for all of us.

I'm proud that my tax dollars help feed families, and I'm not going to waste my time defending why.

Caring for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities shouldn't be controversial. Feeding families is patriotic.

So please donate to a food bank if you have the means: vafoodbanks.org

When people in power fail to listen to their constituents, it's up to us to hold them accountable.

Wittman has forgotten how to listen, and he’s not the only one.

We need to reform the rules, so we can restore representation for the rest of us — that's how we revitalize the American Dream.

Healthcare IS a right because no one should be priced out of basic needs.

It's unbelievable that we're still debating this in the richest country in the world.

Thank you @glodemsva.bsky.social for letting me touch on this topic and others at yesterday's meeting. You're doing amazing work.
October 22, 2025 at 2:14 PM
We can’t build our way out of a crisis while Wall Street hoards what we’ve already built.

Housing must be preserved for people — not corporate profit.
It’s time to reform our economy so every Virginian can afford home.

No exceptions.

Everytime I speak to young people, they always ask how to hold on to hope in era of climate change and deep division.

I'm running because solutions DO exist, and I'm rejecting special interests because they deter the political will to act.

Voters deserve the truth. No spin. No script. Just who the candidates really are.

That’s why I recorded an unplanned conversation were calling “No B.S. Just Tim.”

Be on lookout for more videos like this to drop 👀

Thank you Metro Area Young Democrats and @vayd.bsky.social for giving me the mic (and a soundtrack) at your RVA happy hour.

People are hungry for the fresh ideas and bold solutions young generations bring. We aren’t just the future — we’re the present. And groups like these prove the it everyday.

I had a lot of fun participating in the Glen Allen Day parade with the @henricodems.bsky.social. There was great energy around the dem candidates @maynivar.com and scottk4va.com.

Whenever I attend one of these, I think about the effort of folks in the background who make it possible. S/O to them!

Comment from an @bluevirginia.bsky.social article about another candidate raising $$$.

I don’t mind this comment– the anonymity yes – but not the substance. It’s on the mind of voters. So let's talk how this mentality is undemocratic + why every community in our district deserves a voice too. 🧵

I’m busy with my other job today, but my dog insisted on sharing her thoughts:

This shutdown isn’t an accident—it’s manufactured by Rob Wittman and his party, all to protect the ultra-wealthy at the expense of hardworking families.

It’s time to restore real representationfor the rest of us.
October 3, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Families can’t afford higher healthcare or a government shutdown. But Republicans are holding both hostage— all while Rob Wittman holds a fundraiser.
September 30, 2025 at 11:50 PM
Rob Wittman is busy fundraising while the government teeters on shutdown.

If only families about to lose health care, or federal workers & service members about to miss a paycheck, could just pay $500 for access—maybe Rob would fight for them instead of special interests.

Just sharing some answers from this today’s Ask-Me-Anything on Instagram on here too.

Unlike Rob Wittman, I don’t mind being accessible to the people of the 1st District.

Not on Instagram? Feel free to send me a DM here and I’ll cross post.

I’m nervous to share this, but I’m not running to play it safe.

No party is perfect, but we are better when we hold ourselves accountable.

Rob Wittman is afraid to fight for his district when his party sells us out.

It’s not enough to have the best policy. We have to be willing to fight harder.

I’m doing a first (of many) Ask Me Anythings tomorrow starting at 9:30am on Instagram (www.instagram.com/votetimva?ig...)

If you’re not on Instagram (cuz it’s owned by a spineless, humanoid billionaire), feel free to DM your questions here.

Ignoring a problem doesn’t solve it—that’s common sense.

One in eight Virginians goes hungry. Where’s the sense in that?

Trump cut a billion dollars in food aid, and Rob Wittman supported it. That makes no sense.

The only sense left is to fire Rob Wittman.

Had a great time talking with supporters today about where I stand on the issues.

As the son of an educator, I’ll never waver in my commitment to fully fund our schools and empower teachers.

Education isn’t a line item — it’s an investment, a promise, and a reflection of our shared patriotism.

Thanks @glodemsva.bsky.social for a great event! Two things stuck out from convos w/ ppl tonight

1. Wittman isn’t listening to his constituents

2. It’s not enough just to bash him — we must talk about real solutions for real people

Couldn’t agree more. I’ll try to do a better job at the 2nd part
September 19, 2025 at 2:19 AM
Rob Wittman says he’d “love to talk to” the rural hospital at risk of closing because of his Medicaid cuts. Maybe do that before you sell them out

You don’t get to start the fire then brag about bringing a bucket of water. Wittman made this mess — he doesn’t get credit for pretending to clean it up
