Pretty sure the Trump has no idea what the idea of a "symbolic" pardon even means. His brain does not function like that. But I am sure he was paid a chunk to throw it out there and that is a win in his mind.

They will keep tryin'. Pay off some jury to indict and parade it around like the moon just exploded. Then spend 100s of Ks of our tax dollars to go to trial only to have James acquitted because she was never guilty. If James has no money left after all of this they will consider it a win.

He is not the President of the United States due to his broken oath. He's merely the President, Treasurer and Secretary of the Trump Fan and Adoration Club, of which a few of the "United" States still belong. Thankfully, Indiana isn't one of them.

Exactly. Trump is certainly not trying to protect anyone else by refusing to release the files as he has never shown a propensity to protect anyone other than himself. So... whatever is in them files about Trump is far worse than we can imagine.
