BRP Creatures has arrived. I'm still in the middle of reading it cover to cover, but so far it's a pleasant surprise. @chaosium.bsky.social #chaosium #brp #rpg

I did the Bartle Test of Gamer Psychology just for shits and giggles. The result is unsurprising and pretty much mirrors my approach to playing tabletop rpgs too. #mmorp #mud #rpg #bartle

I finished reading Abraham Merritt's Ship of Ishtar on my way to work this morning. What a bittersweet way to start the day.

Runequest: Roleplaying in Mythic Iceland would have been a more appropriate title.

It's refreshing to finally play a game I'm invested in instead of running it. Yesterday one of my friends ran a session of Dragonbane in Drakborgen. I'll post tomorrow about our jolly little excursion.

Dark Tower has finally arrived, causing immense joy, sorrow, and backpain too. I wish I could drop Jennell a message to gush about this remaster.

Four levels in I'm already fed up with the Quake II remaster's new episode. Dull linear level design, no verticality, overcrowded tight rooms, gimmicky encounters... It isn't hard, just annoying, tedious, uninteresting, and it doesn't fit the tone of the original.

A belated but welcome Christmas gift.

Nothing puts me more in the Holiday mood like having time to finish Quake on Nightmare difficulty.

Tonight's guilty pleasure is Shin Kamen Rider. It feels like pushing an entire season of tokusatsu into two hours. It would benefit from more character building and it's weird that the early over the top brutality disappears midway, but otherwise it's tons of fun and well worth watching.

Two weeks ago I finally got a copy of Better Than Any Man at Cauldron Con. Even got it signed by James Raggi. In hindsight, I should have bought more stuff. Maybe next year.
