i am like soullessly capitalistic about artmaking as a means of survival, because basically every job is soullessly capitalistic in some way or another, but if money wasn't an issue for me, i would prefer not to sell art at all

if i drew a picture and someone made like, mmo mod clothing or a 3D sculpture or a video or something with it, i wouldn't care at all, because that's transformative work, it's already what i do when i draw fanart of other people's stuff

i don't enjoy difficult or tedious skill-based video games, barring me from getting into what most trans video game perverts are into, but my brain just refuses to classify fromsoft games as difficult or tedious. that's my friend margit and im killing him with wolves

i liked del toro frankenstein, but i think my personal criticism is the opposite of popular criticism, in that i think it was a del toro movie constrained by being an adaptation of frankenstein, a book he feels reverently about, when crimson peak and shape of water are better versions of that movie

i don't brook with nostalgia for a time when nerds were a small, maligned subculture, because that nostalgia is used to sell products in the current day where nerds shape (and Are) popular culture, particularly a culture of overproduction and overconsumption

i think games media incentivizes narrow-minded, ahistorical perspectives on video games because there is this implicit assumption in criticism that video games are all about technology, progress, and exceptionalism.
