I was born and then things went downhill from there.

I talk about different things to avoid becoming boring.

I'm an old guy who loves new stuff. Science & technology intrigue me. I enjoy strategy games and it shapes how I view problems.
For those not familiar with The Tragedy of the Commons, here is my summary: If you build a community garden to feed the homeless, you won't feed any homeless people but the local Quicky Mart will suddenly start selling overpriced fresh produce until you give up tending the garden and it dies.

The companion principle to The Tragedy of the Commons is that the private sector is no different.

Businesses also try to maximize the profit they extract from their property without investing anything back into it. Safety violations, low wages, broken gear - all just "kicks the can" of expenses.

I tried to get Gemini to code me something that used local resources on my PC rather than Google resources that would ultimately cost money if I wanted to continue running the program once completed.

It outright refused. It admitted it that it could, but it wasn't allowed to do it because profits.

The Prime Minister of Canada has a PhD.

The President of Mexico has a PhD.

The President of the USA has 3rd stage syphilis.

Michigan white suburbanites actually subsist entirely on ranch dressing. Any food added to it is just to maintain a human appearance.

At least the judges are standing up to Trump. That's good, right?

I support UBI so that I can fire all the dipshits that I work with.

The First Rule of American Lawsuits:

Never sue the person responsible. Instead, sue whoever has the most money.

Example: A crackhead shoots a kid in a drive-by. Sue the gun maker, they're rich. Sue the car maker, they're rich. Don't bother suing the crackhead, he's broke.

I see that the fake Gaza scammers are back. It takes a special kind of scumbag to exploit a global tragedy as a means of conning people out of money.

Remember back when AlphaFold2 solved protein folding?

That problem was the modern day equivalent of the Enigma Code.

Several new vaccines, including a few for COVID & influenza, are already in preliminary trials based on this new technology.

So yes, people are using AI to literally save lives.

Imagine a timeline where Eberhard & Tarpenning kicked Musk off the board of Tesla instead of letting him take over.

The people extolling the "innate value of human labor over automation" aren't the people picking crops for $3 an hour, or repairing rooftops in a heat wave or inhaling toxic fumes at work daily.

They're people working in air conditioned offices drinking lattes for $50 an hour and shopping for dogs.

On one side we have a world where everything is done via human toil & shit jobs.

On the other side we have a world where automation means nobody has to work at all anymore.

It's the long, painful transition between the two that sucks donkey balls, and unfortunately that's where we are right now.

Why can't we have a insane dictators in a FUN way, anymore?

Funny how many Americans are always chanting "Down with this thing that makes my life possible."

I wonder if Charlie's body was even cold before Erika started fucking J.D.?

Probably not. Well, at least he got the exact amount of love & respect he deserved.

#movies

If there's an award for movies that didn't age well, I'd say James Bond "The Living Daylights" deserves it

For those who've never been to Detroit, do not be fooled: Coney Sauce is NOT chili. It is just beef gravy with chili powder added.

Still amusing how the same people who told me that I was stupid & crazy for supporting Andrew Yang and his idea of taxing tech companies to pay for UBI are now... (checks notes) constantly crying for taxing tech companies to pay for UBI.

Today's oligarchs were born when Reagan began "trickle down economics" in the 1980s.

Project 2025 began with the Patriot Act in 2001.

This? This is just... maintenance.

The reason you never see Putin move his hand during speeches is that his arm is too tired from spending all day up Trump's ass.

A world without automation is a world where humans can finally acknowledge & take responsibility for all their own personal failures.

And while we're at it, I'm making a great offer on a bridge.

There is something funny about watching the world's most shameless opportunist getting played by the world's second most shameless opportunist.
