I think of all the Hollywood genre film stalwarts that have started advocating for AI, I think Cameron is the least surprising. Filmmaking has always been second to his much more enduring interest in technology. Art is just a platform for that interest.

The rot is bipartisan, disconnect your sense of self from the second worse political party in the world and dream a little bigger. Reality does not need to be binary.
November 28, 2025 at 5:12 PM
A lot of liberals don't really want to talk about that what is Trump is doing now is the end of decades long political processes that started with, at the very least Bush, if not earlier. Democrats ran a tough of immigration campaign last go around, they aren't against this. not the ones in power

I'll lecture anyone who supports a political organization that armed and funded a genocide, that's my right as a human

you should interrogate how said party has so fundamentally warped your sense of the world that you find such an act disagreeable
November 24, 2025 at 7:31 PM
It's incredible, because you can't uncoil that central contradiction of your thought, that your politics lead directly to one of the worse crimes against humanity in 21th century, you straight up can't imagine a better world, you can dream only in sombre greys
November 24, 2025 at 7:27 PM
I think you'll find your apparently very moral belief lead you directly to compromising with people who committed a genocide, of which because of your support of the Dems, lead you credence to that act.

So in your universe that non-nihilistic act is to accept genocide as inevitable and necessary
November 24, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Now I have to ask what is it you do beyond posting? Because I donate my money, when I can afford it, and my time, when I can afford it, to political causes I agree through organizations I trust or at least don't mistrust. Many of these are local, but some are broader.
November 24, 2025 at 7:18 PM
I'm not nihilistic, I have more hope for humanity than probably the average person, I just understand that a better will be impossible to build through liberals, or America.
November 24, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I know, I'm saying you can only frame participating in politics as individual actors making great important changes hence your obsession with this idea that because I'm not supporting liberals (the Great Men) I must not be doing anything, or even participating in politics at all.
November 24, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Nah, that's the sound of you being a nebbish, moral coward
November 24, 2025 at 7:04 PM
It's not really imagining it as it is responding to your own language an inability to reckon with the fact your support a party that helped commit a genocide.

I do participate in politics, I just don't support parties that think its fine and good to blow up children because they're brown.
November 24, 2025 at 7:03 PM
I don't view myself as a hero (again, Great Man bullshit, very interesting), and yeah Democrats, by kneecapping themselves over and over, refusing to change, refusing to move on centrist politics, created the conditions for fascism to thrive.

You don't know what I do or don't btw
November 24, 2025 at 7:00 PM
That's the sound of you lending your credence to a bunch of butchers because you can't see outside the box they have built around you.
November 24, 2025 at 6:55 PM
They can do that because Biden gave more money to ICE than any other president in history, and eroded international norms of conflict with his support of Israel's genocide.

That you refuse to understand that is why you're going to lose again.
November 24, 2025 at 6:53 PM
This cartoonish Great Man idea of participating in politics is exactly how I think someone who worships politicians would think changing the world looks like, kind of amazing you fit the stereotype so perfectly
November 24, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Absolutely did, I know that doesn't make sense in the fairybook world you've dreamed up, but the Democratic party is just as responsible for the genocide in Gaza as the Israelis.
November 24, 2025 at 6:44 PM
I support plenty. That you think its nihilistic to not engage with political apparatuses that cause nothing but unending harm speaks directly to your own myopic worldview. Truly, we apparently live in the best of all possible worlds.
November 24, 2025 at 6:42 PM
I'm a spoiled child because I won't compromise with an organization that funded a genocide? Do you hear yourself?
November 24, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Work with the people who committed a genocide? Why, so they can use my implicit support to justify the next?

The logical option is not lend your dignity and support to a bunch of murderous amoral sociopaths who do nothing but make the world worse. Dream bigger.
