Very happy that the bug report was looked at really quickly. One of the contributors noticed that there was an unaligned memory access which caused this issue and they were quick to create a possible fix.

Have I stumbled on an actual bug that’s a bit bad? The issue with this only happens if the scan command is run with sudo. Which is quite interesting. #linux #debugging #wifi

I have ssh access and can run journalctl to get the log when the error occurs. I have also direct console access and running the scan there will just lock up that session but not the ssh session. I suppose it’s progress
