Only 6 of the 18 pre-Civil War Presidents DIDN'T own slaves. And only 2 of them were actually anti-slavery based on principle: John and John Quincy Adams. I'm not counting Lincoln, but he's much less of a shithead than Pierce, Buchanan, and Fillmore.

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

StoryGraph is also 100% a better application and worth paying for a Pro account. It's helped me to read more and find new authors. The content warning feature is a great example of compassion in design ❤️
Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.
