To all game devs, board game devs in particular.
I'm as new as it gets to the game developing world.

Any advice on how to play test existing games without having to purchase all of them?

As in, I'm curious about the market mechanics in 3 games but not the games themselves.

Thanks in advance!
Anatomy of a nonbiological thing

In this one-part post I complain about the fact that there are TOO MANY books and series and blogs called the anatomy of x. I'm no metaphysical physician, so why is your every story a metaphor of a body?

EU, on we go, we've got work to do. A law needs passing!

There's something deeply and satisfyingly revolting about watching - on my work's IG account because I liked the video on my personal one - ai jordan peterson argue that tralalero tralala is universally better than bombardiro crocodilo.

Shark-in-sneakers-backed revolution from within.

We're way too close to 1930. Rise of the far right on a wave of economic hardship, a crumbling center, a fractured opposition.

I've finally written the second ever entry of that newsletter I allegedly write monthly. Had to reflect and vent a bit over recent experiences with the far right in Brussels.

No, you're right Meta, you absolutely need that data in three months time I understand. It's absolutely right that a chat bot can overwrite my data privacy preferences. That's cool!

@gsvoss.bsky.social At CES, a car is more often a concept intended to carry an idea, than a vehicle to carry actual passengers.

Beautiful. For a while now I've had the feeling the tech we buy is more swiss army knives of visions rather than tools. Filling their pockets for their idea of our future.

Böhmermann being Böhmermann just this time across the pond. At the NYT at this point he might be preaching to a choir smaller than the one he got at home. But at least he's preaching.
