It’s disgusting how they are leveraging her motherhood as innocence, as if it’s somehow different for her and her kids than all the other moms serving out sentences. Her kids will fare better than most bc at least they have resources, so many poorer families destroyed permanently.

He also delights in his ability to bend the entire R congress to his will now, and I think the fact that he can’t on this issue, that they aren’t following his talking points- is really also pissing him off. He likes to test their loyalty by doing outrageous shit and it was working until this.

He has pledged ALL of the donation money to the local community that is still reeling from Hurricane devastation, his church is keeping none of it. Anyway, he’s right there as the closest Christian rep that I’ve seen living like Jesus.

The Appalachian pastor of the small church in NC is right there, the one who passed the formula social experiment with FLYING colors, asked what he perceived to be a mom w/ a hungry baby “what flavor” of formula she needed. People have donated tens of thousands to his church since the story broke.

Can it not be one of the centrists that doesn’t routinely vote with the majority of the Dem senators? Keep seeing names who are more centrists than the majority of the senate Dems, outliers. We don’t need a centrist, they are the farthest right of our party. We need someone in the center of Dems.

Does he not realize how easy it would be for someone to report him? Does he think his papers will keep him safe when ICE just arrests for unverified phone tips and takes days or weeks to sort it out after the fact?!?! Is it bad I hope he learns first hand?

Mind you- this was high school, and ours run block schedules so one day of class missed is really 2 learning days. But it was important for all K-12 to get rid of mask mandates, bc 5yos and 17 yos needed the same interventions 🙄. Sorry your kindergartner can’t learn w/ a mask, but HS kids can!

The first school year back for my kid was such a mess, so many absences with students AND teachers- not enough substitutes. So learning was continually interrupted. They would cram 3-4 classes without teachers into the library for “self study” time every damn day.

The burden and cost is always on us, never on corporations. They have hefty laws to protect their data/trade secrets/etc, but us lowly data points get told that “technically the Constitution doesn’t guarantee the right to privacy”. Our laws are completely backwards.

We are all adversely affected by this bill. The people want us govt to PROTECT our privacy online, they cannot be bothered to seriously address that (bc they are owned by tech corps) but they will force us to hand out more of our data in order to opt in to modern society?

If polls are to be believed, there is little to no support for the type of centrist corporate Dem type that does stuff like compromise with the R senate to end the shut down. Party leadership wants centrists, but we decide who wins primaries.

Agreed! If you want to hold on to the Dem party, you have to vote in new representatives, and they need to not be tied to the DNC establishment. I am hopeful after this past election and by poll numbers that it isn’t just the left flank that is fed up with the current party and leadership.

Saw a Reddit thread today where people were doing the math- even if the interest rates stay the same on a 50 compared to a 30, the payments per month for a $400k loan are like $2000 vs $2200, so like $200 cheaper for 20 more years of debt. And interest rate should be higher on a longer loan.

I haven’t had Covid- mostly because I have a pre existing condition that keeps me mostly at home. Although the rest of my family has had it and somehow I escaped it, don’t know how I managed it but so glad I did bc I’ve already got MECFS don’t need double MECFS from long covid
