I have a coworker who, when I send him a DM, will reply in a thread instead of in the DM. At first, this confused me, but then I realized he did it because it's the best way to find a topic in his DMs based on the initial message.

It's a brilliant hack that I'm going to start using. #slackhacks

PSA: Please check in on your game dev friends. Chances are, they are not okay. Even if they are still employed they're going through some major hurdles, and for those who have been looking after being unemployed for an amount of time they're struggling too.

Today is the second day in a row that I woke up with a Korn song stuck in my head. Yesterday was Blind, today is Shoots and Ladders.

What could it mean?

One of my favorite things about living in Seattle is hearing about the hellscape I live in from people who aren’t even remotely close in proximity to the PNW.

The emotional rollercoaster of trying to get concert tickets in 2025 goes as such:

Lady Gaga announces tour: 😍
Presale offers are given: 😱
Presale offers are a lie: 😭
General public sale opens up: Met with a queue greater than the national debt 😭
Acceptance: Welp, hope y'all enjoy seeing Gaga.

Bret Hart is one of my all time favorite wrestlers, but he is straight up wrong about #AEW. To accuse them of “acting” instead of the company that has wrestling squabbles around monologues is absurd.

CHBP just released their lineup. I don't know who any of these performers are, officially making me no longer "with it". Check it out.

For those who are familiar, have a great time!

Thinking about the time when I was 13 and almost ran away from home because my parents wouldn't let me go to a NIN concert. Oh youth.

My current creative process:

1. Grand, but vague idea
2. Sweating
3. Imposter syndrome
4. Procrastination
5. Forced labor with mediocre results
6. Repeat steps 2-5 a few times
7. Weird eureka moment
8. Frenzied and hyper-focused productivity
9. Smug satisfaction
10. Critiques
11. Repeat step 6

Trust the process.

Unless I’m in charge, in which case you’ll want to have a backup plan.

Having healthy competition and alternatives really do elevate the business. It's an exciting time to be a wrestling fan!
I think the coolest part about the Ricky Starks thing is that the mainstream American wrestling ecosystem is healthy enough to allow these jumps back and forth.

Performers have options and negotiating power. Fans have a more exciting product with moments like last night.

Taking a moment to appreciate all the music lined up that 2025 has to offer. New LS Dunes, Lady Gaga, Weird Al and NIN are touring, and countless other new music waiting to be heard.

Things might be uneasy all around but we will still dance!

Game design problems: two constant issues I face on any project I’m on:

- gamepad mappings

- localization and string tables

I just finished reading what I’ll tag as one of my favorite bio books ever, Fallopian Rhapsody: The Story of the Lunachicks.

That band was paramount to me growing up and reading their stories as an adult just makes me love them even more. Highly recommend!
