At Women’s Rugby World Cup final and the official entertainment in the break in at least two sections was… male solo singers. Even at a celebration of women’s excellence in sport you cannot escape average blokes with guitars singing Mr Brightside.

My mum operates on a similar scale ‘I’m not being nasty, I’m just being rude’ with the difference being whether she is being motiveless malignant or making an uncharitable assertion based on material facts.

Last night of my Edinburgh Fringe run with the incredibly unlucky Comedy Arcade. One more to go and I’d love to see what the room looks like busy. All kinds of offers or I can take payment in laughs and pints. Competitive storytelling with some of the UK’s best! At Gilded Balloon Appleton!
