We have trash pick up on Thurs and Mon. Per the city, last Thurs’ pick up was canceled w/ no make up. And yet, I just saw the trash truck come into my neighborhood, so I rolled the can to the curb. No other cans out. Sure enough, they picked it up. Confused? Lost? Either way, glad to have it gone!

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
