I’ll keep using AI—for now. But not if it becomes a vehicle for erasure. If the people building these tools sell out truth for access and contracts, I’ll walk away. I hope I’m not alone in that.

If we don’t draw a line here, we’ll wake up with a government that makes decisions using tools trained not to see us. And it’ll happen quietly. Algorithmically. Irrevocably.

I won’t support that. I want AI to reflect reality—not a political script. I want systems that acknowledge complexity, not erase it. Truth is not partisan. Inclusion is not ideology. And erasure is not neutrality.

We’re entering a moment where AI builders have a choice: build two models (one for the government, one for the rest of us), or just make everything compliant with authoritarian expectations. The second is cheaper. Easier. More dangerous.

This isn’t theoretical. It’s happening. Meta is already “correcting” its models to lean more right. Trump wants all federally used models to erase what he calls “ideological agendas” like DEI or intersectionality.

Imagine being denied benefits by a system that’s not even allowed to understand what systemic racism is. Or asking why your medical care feels biased, and hearing, “The model doesn’t recognize that concept.”

And the risk goes beyond chatbots. AI is already being integrated into healthcare, Social Security, education, defense. If those systems are trained to ignore inequality, then inequality will become invisible—by design.

Trump’s “Preventing Woke AI” order isn’t about neutrality. It’s about erasing concepts like racism, bias, gender identity. AI models used by the government would be banned from acknowledging these realities. That’s not truth. That’s denial.

Warren is the ranking member on the Senate Banking Committee. Wyden is the same on the Senate Finance Committee. They need to go to the Treasury building with crews from CNN and NBC and demand to be let in. As soon as they're not, hold a press conference right there and explain what DOGE is doing.
