Took 2/3 cats to the vet this morning, one of them clawed a nurse and then got behind and into the innards of a X ray machine. I got to squeeze my fat ass back there to extract him, so yeah, break is off to a great start.

Was watching a scentbird interview with Trixie Mattel so felt appropriate to wear the Barbie perfume to bed. Also discovered some saint on YouTube made a treasure trove of compilations of Delta Work talking about fragrance that I'll have to work through.

But the opening goes a bit too dimetap, and the base while very nice just doesn't last on me. But would really love other scents along that wassail + mulled wine scent

#perfumesky #fragrancesky Oakcha's melting embers is a little strong for me most days but having that little hit of warmth + wood + smoke has been nice when it's this cold. Layers nicely with Sucreabeille's hot chocolate, the sweet helps mellow the intensity of the smoke while the dry chocolate -

I do genuinely like Facebook's Memories feature most of the time but there's also the whole "oh, here are all the posts leading up to the moment at that workshop your dreams of working as an artist completely dissolved that we never really recovered from"

Sucreabeille's Arboreal is a different take on forest than I'm used to. There's a sweetness through it, something more pine-like but not quite pine, fresh at first, before giving way to an earthy black licorice. If Moss+ is a realistic tree, Arboreal is more impressionist.

Sucreabeille's Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream to me reads exactly like an After Eight Mint, the dark chocolate adds some stability to the mint + vanilla. Another nice dessert recreation, but this is a holiday only scent for me.

Leila Lou was a close second choice on a sephora sample set, still quite fond of the sample. Again, not a crazy list of notes here: crisp, juicy pear blends seamlessly into jasmine before finishing with fresh cut grass for a very green and uplifting experience.

Nest's Wisteria Blue is light, feminine, and calming, starting very aquatic before blooming into wisteria, rose, and jasmine. It's not hugely unique, but I do like that it's not over engineered, the notes are straightforward and pleasant. More longevity than Black Tulip.

Cosmic Power might be my favorite of the Charlotte Tillbury samples, a unique blend of cinnamon bark, mysterious frankincense with a touch of rose that then settles into a amber, musky, and powdery base. Very up my alley but the base isn't as good as the top or heart imo.

It turns out this is one of those scents I don't care for on me but love a bit on my pillow before bed.
Orphic to me is giving rubbing alcohol through the top and middle. The base isn't terrible, warm, woody, spicy, soft - honestly similar to Crazy Good, but swaps leather for both ambergris and ambroxan (which is synthetic ambergris right? Natural whale byproduct not enough?) #fragrancesky #perfumesky
