'Everyone thinks a cosmic joke is being played at their expense; perspective, though.' Read my novella: https://honeybadgersupremacy.itch.io/death-of-a-vampire
Anyway, read Lois McMaster Bujold's The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls for an interesting perspective on the role of women in the upper echelons of power in a Medieval European setting. #ReadThisInsteadofThat

It really helps that you have each other. It will never stop being difficult in unexpected ways, but having a sibling to share the love and the pain with moors you. My thoughts are with you.

I am sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your sister.

It's been a wonderful journey and I wish you all the best going forward.

That's awesome! Thank you! Terras do Sem Fim and São Jorge dos Ilhéus would be a perfect place to start. The latter still makes a lot of people angry to this day. The former is more easily available in English.

Congratulations on your fifth anniversary. Many happy returns. I've been listening since the In a Groove/Rashomon episode. I still hold on to the hope that one day The Left Page might discuss a work by Jorge Amado.

For some reason, I remembered a passing scene in one of Maigret's stories where he wishes he were working in theft instead of murder. His victims and his criminals both would be living.

To me, there is a clear link between chasing Isabel Fall off the SFF scene and accepting a sponsorship from Raytheon.

The Masked Empire is the most enjoyable among the DA novels--for all the wrong reasons, I'm afraid. It has gems such as 'dark-skinned people don't tan' and magic elfin genes and a genocidal girlboss. I just couldn't put it down (it has good bits as well, but the bad bits are bad).

Sorry for the late reply. I hope they have a good time with DA:I, and I look forward to your episode about it. Not to impose homework on you both, but if you feel inclined, there's a DA novel that takes place in Not!France just before the events of DA:I called the Masked Empire.

Speaking of Liberalism, the funniest, most harrowing thing I read by a Dragon Age fan was a plan to fix Kirkwall by renaming Low Town Middle Town and Dark Town (the literal bowels of the city) Low Town to uplift the Low Town people and integrate the Dark Town people into legitimate society.

Thank you for the episode (and all episodes). I look forward to your future episodes on Thedas. Dragon Age II is uneven. It has a rich background and a shallow foreground.
