Dogs are our life companions, and sometimes accompany us when we visit these lands. But when visiting Bears Ears, please keep them on dog-approved trails and always pack out their waste.Make sure to carry plenty of doggy bags so you can pack it out, every time.

The San Juan River is cared for thanks to Indigenous Tribes, local guiding companies, non-profit organizations, & the Monticello BLM office. We encourage all visitors to pay their fees, as those funds help support amenities, maintenance, & ranger services across the monument, including the river. 🙌

Did you know summer temperatures can hit over 100 degrees fahrenheit? ☀️ Because of that, it’s best to plan your hikes or outdoor activities in the early morning or evenings when temps are cooler! Always bring plenty of water too.

Have you seen this 3D virtual experience of River House? As part of a larger effort to document ancestral sites within Bears Ears NM, CyArk and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Monticello Field Office have partnered with the Pueblo of Zuni to create a new virtual experience of River House!

This past Saturday, April 26th, we had our Spring Ambassador Training. It was an immense success & we trained 17 new Ambassadors! 🥾🙌 We’re excited to welcome them into the Ambassador Program. We also had our partners from BLM Monticello, Science Moab & @cnhamoab.bsky.social join us for this event!

The Bears Ears Education Center is officially open for the season! 🌎 Come learn all the information you need to visit the greater Bears Ears region. Check out our Visit With Respect wall - it’s one of the many exhibits! Open Thursday - Monday, 9 AM to 4 PM.

If you come across old metal cans or wooden structures, leave them as they are because they may tell an important story. But if you see modern trash, like plastic bottles or snack wrappers, do your part to pack it out! 🙌
