in a lot of older 2D flash games where you move your character with the keyboard, by pressing the corresponding keys to move the character first one direction then the other (usually first left then right) the character will moonwalk, facing one way and walking the other.

there were a lot of contributing factors to my leaving twitter, but one of these factors was how annoying it was seeing people spouting the nonsensical take of "starship troopers isn't satire, it is an unironically fascist movie, paul verhoeven is a fascist, and those are all good things"

when you find a worthy opponent (innocent civilian on the street) who dishonorably refuses to fight (claims they are "taking their children to school") and they bring their arms up to shield themselves (they don't know 3P+K+G is -6 if only they hadn't done that)

all I got from the TGS VF presentation was that the producer is a 2D fighting game guy and not a 3D fighting game guy and VF6 genuinely might be ruined for it. we'll see

why are american remakes of foreign films often just so awful? they typically feel to me like they're created very cynically to appeal to the lowest common denominator audiences. the old boy remake was downright appalling in how americanized and dumb it was
