A smol birb (Ross's Turaco, to be exact). Living in Switzerland, working in humanitarian aid. Not actually real.
Oh my god I binged that book in like three days when my hard drive died in a foreign country and I had nothing to do other than hunker down in an empty guesthouse reeking of smoke. I did not feel right for weeks afterward. Highly recommended, 5 stars

Sure. Furry has become just another name for anthro animals connected with the subculture, as far as I'm concerned. Scaly is an accepted alternative for reptiles (and fish?), but we birds don't really have one-- "avian" is as good as we've got.

This is a mustelid who goes all-out with the holiday decorations. The sort who can't have a fireplace in their small apartment-- all they can afford on their teacher's salary-- but who will, in private, drape the TV in tinsel and turn on the Yule log channel to compensate. It makes them happy.

Heard one about a teen successfully getting around Snapchat's age gate by holding a photo of her mother up to the screen. 🙄 This whole thing was unenforceable from the start.

I prefer my ebooks, honestly, but just saying for the record that I enjoyed both of these stories hugely and am waiting very patiently for the third to be done so I can jump in. :)

Is *that* where the English word curfew comes from? Interesting! I knew it came from French couvre-feu, but that in itself never made sense to me until now.

Hey, congratulations! ^v^

I love this SO much. Incredibly lucky that you found a place with that kind of wood paneling still intact.

Do you play bass?

Congrats, that's great to hear! ^v^

Oh my god I just saw the little moustache

Curators might want to be creative by violating convention in ways that only confuse people. But, on the other hand, that "convention" is sometimes arbitrary and not necessarily natural for those who aren't super-familiar with museums. Basically, someone's usually going to be confused.

To be fair, speaking as a bird who today walked into a circular museum exhibition and stopped dead for like 2 minutes, unable to discern any reason why any starting point was more correct than any other: Sometimes it's bad design. 😆 (I got it wrong, in case you're wondering)

I'm really happy for you. ^v^ Does that mean the repairs are finished?

Anyway, you're very cool and I'm glad you reached out to me a while back! Touched, even, knowing that it genuinely means something.

Social media has conflated the concepts of following someone and being their friend, which creates a weird dynamic where people might want to become "real" friends with someone they like from afar, but they've lost the tools and even the vocabulary they once had for figuring out how.

I really admire that. It takes a level of social bravery that I think a lot of us have never had or have forgotten how to exercise.

Color me interested :)

Same! There's honestly no proper furry-centric alternative for writers in the fandom. They seem like they're inching closer to relaunching, but it's already been down for like 30 internet years 😭
