Fearow took 15 months on and off to complete. I'm now counting up hope many birds I have left to make and weeping 🤣 but maybe there'll be some patterns for the others?! 🧶

Tomorrow (Saturday) - if you're in Cambridge and like the idea of a free concert: Scheherezade at St Clements church at 1pm! fb.me/e/3s4v4wXdc

I think enough Cambridge people follow me to make it worth publicising my free 1-hr concert at St Clements church on Saturday afternoon at 1pm - so come! Scheherezade is gert lush! fb.me/e/3s4v4wXdc

Maaaaaybe we shouldn't have preceded no-mow May with no-mow October to April, but dang, hope the wildlife are having fun in there!

Oh hai, I have not been bothered to say much, nor do much, because <gestures vaguely at the state of everything>

But while at a conference I did finish crocheting a balloon sausage dog. Here it is, with its buddy 🐕 🧶

Had a go at making a worry worm today, ahead of running some crochet sessions with the students - it will be awesome if any show up!! 🧶

I turned my @mothyandthesquid.bsky.social yarn advent calendar (a gift from me to me) into this gorgeous wrap over Xmas, and here is one of the snowflakes I made for my colleagues being blocked (the ❄️ not the colleagues!) just before being glitter-glued (still the ❄️ not the colleagues) 😊🧶

Is this the critical mass we needed? In which case maybe I need to blow the dust off and post a bit more! Have some pictures of recent(ish) crochet projects 🧶😊

Half-hour snail-cat yesterday!

I've not been working on my crochet pokemon (hit a rubbish one and feeling uninspired) but I've been catching up on some other projects instead. Made a deer to be a library mascot recently and exhibited it!

Proud of being able to keep this going so long! One day I want to take Welsh gcse (but I'm not quite there yet)

I was in New York this week - we'd booked it not even realising that we'd get a 91% eclipse while we were there. Didn't notice the earthquake a few days before as I was on the subway, but got a few good pictures (and sunburn) from the eclipse!

Beyond delighted to have finally finished Magmar! Had to write a pattern for this one, so took a long time to produce, but I'm quite proud of the result! 🧶 #Pokemoncrochet

Just come from a marvellous workshop on Cambridge book bindings led by David Pearson - lots of things to know to look out for now! Many thanks to @liamsims.bsky.social and everyone involved, always such a treat to handle these treasures!

At home sick with tonsillitis this week, so my inability to do nothing has resulted in another finished project and 8 - yes, 8 - brownie badges sewn onto a camp blanket. (Seriously, I don't know how to ill.)

It was definitely worth redoing the legs. I think I'm in love! Dead chuffed how this one came out! #PokemonCrochet #CrochetMon
March 4, 2024 at 8:35 PM
Calamity!! Having spent all afternoon attaching all those horribly fiddly toes and fingers, I decided I *hate* the legs and I'm going to redo them to look more like the arms. SIGH.
March 3, 2024 at 10:29 PM
The back is complete! Fairly happy with it so far, but still 20 pieces to attach.. #PokemonCrochet #CrochetMon
March 3, 2024 at 12:56 PM
Ta-da! The spine is done, eight more spikes (4 either side) and that will be the whole of the back. Then only arms, fingers, legs, feet, toes and eyebrows to go...

I know sewing is always quicker than I imagine it's going to be, but it's just *not* crochet. Still, a little bit more progress made, and hopefully time this weekend to finish off!
March 1, 2024 at 10:13 PM
Been busy with rehearsals (Brahms 3, Brahms 2, Egmont, and a whole host of wind band stuff) so not much progress made these last few days, but hopefully finished Sunday??
February 29, 2024 at 9:57 PM
All pieces made, construction begins tomorrow!
February 25, 2024 at 9:31 PM
After 30 individual pieces, it's starting to become a bit clearer which pokemon this is going to be, but 11 pieces still to go and I'm rehearsing all afternoon tomorrow, so it's not going to be finished this weekend *sob*
