I'm not sure what The Talamasca is trying to say. It's a supernatural spy story (dope concept), and it should be morally gray, but it lacks a strong message. It would be better if Guy had a partner to play off of. Guy is a great character, though, and he's carrying the show. Nicholas Denton can ACT.

I never mentioned this before, but I've always connected Florence Welch with Vanessa Ives from Penny Dreadful. The themes in the album Ceremonials align perfectly with those from the show. Florence seemed tormented by a dark force, and she was searching for the light, like Ms. Ives.

If you enjoyed the Frankenstein movie, I suggest Penny Dreadful. It seamlessly pulls gothic characters into one world. The Wolfman, Victor Frankenstein, The Creature/John Clare, and Dorian Gray. The enchanting Ms. Ives stands in the center; the dialogue is rich, and it's exceptionally moving.
