if there's one thing i've learned about the Democratic Party in my lifetime, it's: when the Republicans are so wildly unpopular that an actual Marxist could beat one in an election, when the Dems have a chance to unabashedly fight for good things, they run the most right-wing people they can find

They figured out he's the most right leaning Dem and think his hatred of Trump admin will carry that fact over others heads.
