The cat thing was hilarious in retrospect. Our fox friend was visiting again and she saw it outside the kitchen door and fully lost her shit, yowling and crashing round the kitchen, knocking over the recycling, hissing... all over an "enemy" that cannot physically reach her and also loves her.

Yeah, I cut a lot and I keep the bits I cut cos that makes my brain feel easier about cutting them (and I want it to be easy, kill your darlings and all that, I want to be a bit ruthless with it). I do re-use them in other fics if there's a place where they fit.
