possibly starting to post here, posting whatever here / total teetotaler. rabbithusiast. i also moderate that /r/polandball subreddit
I guess not being subjected to it 24/7 in every single store or other place with loudspeakers makes it easier to not dislike

i will get slain for this suggestion but APT

you could just go for some three-letter international organization or country to base it around 🤷‍♂️

"some serious alternatives would have been nice, just for the sake of the competition"

as in, there were alternatives but none of them reached the bar of giving tommy cash much of a challenge

ollie last year did make the 5miinust x puuluup win a bit more intense, for example

the song is okay and all but it feels like it's lacking on the stage aspect so if we do make it to may with this, i'd hope to see more improvements there. it's not giving "eurovision 2025 winner" right now

and the controversies don't help either, oh well

on another note, as it seemed and was later confirmed (tommy cash won with 83%) - it really felt like we had no choices in the eesti laul of this year and it all seemed more like a long coronation

some serious alternatives would have been nice, just for the sake of the competition

for those wondering: koos is currently at ~2.1% in the average, ERK at ~0.9%, greens at ~2.3% and E200 at ~3.5%.

threshold is 5%

USAID worked to take down apartheid south africa, it's currently saving countless children during the famine and genocide in sudan, it's destroying landmines in warzones, helping field hospitals in refugee camps, distributing medicine to fight HIV and polio.

the list goes on.

there's also the aspect of actual humanitarian/ aid and support to civil society in many countries.

you know why bukele (dictator of el salvador) supports ending USAID? because he's an autocrat and dismantling civil society faster allows him to consolidate power and commit more human rights abuses

go ahead, call your public officials. it's the best you can do while there aren't elections, alongside public pressure of course.

the pressure needs to be active and unrelenting. they try to impose this flurry of insanity to get away with actually sinister policy. don't let them

media has already been missing the mark on what's important, so it falls upon democrats.

it might even be worth calling your senator(s) and district rep (assuming they're dems, because republicans won't undercut their own party) and tell them of the need to do these things.
