kinda hate the front sight base on Mauser español. Its got a weird 7/16in dovetail for the post and its sitting tilted which would fuck up a globe.
And the checkering i did myself with a file, it was ugly jeweled.

German claw metal prints just arrived and they turned out perfect.
Gotta hand fit everything but thats expected. Forgot to cut 1 screw hole when i set the files but i can just drill it lol

>vertical split rings for aesthetics, airbrushed them a touch lighter + weathered.
>didnt like hard white on ultradot, so i smudged black marker over 4-Dot text and repainted dial position dots a warmer shade. with a tiny brush.

tragically basic, looks like any old sporter. Also i dont see the finger grooves supposedly mentioned in the 1903 catalog. I'm also not sure where youd cut them in a straight stock.

i hate that the swedish stock on mauser español bothers me, things a frankenmauser sporter.... i just want it to look spanish (and chilean stocks are identical)

i may actually be able to clean this thing up. Along with the weaver im getting the feeling German scopes are just fiddly little shits (despite requiring full strip to solder mounts).

i dont know when this pan-tech ad is from but if its 50s or 60s then its about a fifth the price of my nice kahles
not bad really, its god awful with the worst eyebox ive looked through but Jesus Christ i paid $1 for a trashed rusty example and it still works.

HOLY SHid one mixed lot from local auctions. DWM 7mm mauser, pre-spitzer. Only 2rd but my mausers are both Loewe (renamed DWM in 1896 since Ludwig Loewe was Soros if he owned Raytheon)
Also some 303 British i cant use and was too slow to photograph the bug taste testing

le $50 "noris" schmidt & bender arrived. perfect condition, first scope ive bought with zero problems.
the glass is fantastic, it might be on par with the kahles tbh. Which would indicate the other s&b is only worse due to complexity of variable magnification (fancy at the time)

picked up some cheap oigee lens covers but the ebay seller measured them wrong and theyre useless

printed scope ring spacers might actually work. Had to sand quite a bit, wish I could resin print.
I've utilized the bit of integral rail i left on scope + a channel at bottom of claw, its actually nice, they keep in place tightening down.
