Advised my GP to remove any of my data from any Palantir system. It is their responsibility to retain my data securely and I am not prepared to take this kind of risk. Everyone should do the same

Got paper, strapped her back into her seat and back door has closed. Childlocked. 6'2" and stuck in the back. Designers need to take account of peoples idiocy

Genuine Q.
If a legal monopoly like water, where there is NO opportunity for commercial challenge, if failing, does the legal aspect of its entity preserve worth?
My concern is that the arguments for their continuance and not veing nationalised are v thin: asset base, customer base - you cannot

So interesting watching 10o'clock news seeing Chris Mason (an editor!) talking up speculation about Andy Burnham and his route to PM before stopping himself . I contrast to v little comment about NFs blatant omission to register payments because being Sn MP doesnt pay enough! What about service?

so novel that BBCR4 taking some time to understand the Asylum application process. Only 27 years too late since IAA1999!

From 1999 ( the passing of the IAA) Labour trusted LAs to lead the dispersal programme of people seeking asylum. This was do they could offer accommodation and support but also cordinate, as we did in Newcastle, how other services operated inbthe area. A lot went into community cohesion!

OMG - reading the novel Annihiliation by french novelist Michel Houellebecq and the start of this paragraph published in 2022, shouted out to me about how we get to be where we are now. How we are controlled? Worrying

so much lost from the transfer from Social management of asylum contracts to private sector. The biggest thing has been the demise of Social Cohesion in this area.
This current situation is 15 years in the making! What happened in 2010 to precipitate this?
absolutely

Who ensures chances to integrate when people seeking asylum are dispersed? Access to ESOL for language (underpins everything), college for skills, schools for children, how local things work: Bin collection, police, shops, money etc etc. and esp after asylum decision made?
Not the private sector !

Cant help but reflect on the lack of contract management in these asylum contracts - absolutely none. Also when I managed asylum contracts for over 10 years, there was attention given to ensuring clients were well connected to local services. All lost under privatisation - support is not profitable
