As a future health professional, I plan to incorporate nutrition knowledge into my role by helping my patients understand the vital link between nutrition and overall health. I'll encourage multidisciplinary approaches to improving patient outcomes. @beh353 #beh353

One thing I'd look for in any nutrition post before accepting it as fact is the credibility of the source. I’d check if the post is coming from a trusted professional or a reputable organization, and whether they reference reliable scientific evidence to back up their claims. @beh353 #beh353

Reading Tom Carroll’s weight loss journey really challenged my perspective on behavior change. His success didn’t come from perfection, it came from consistency and finding a system that worked for him. A powerful reminder that empathy, flexibility, and individualization are key. @beh353 #beh353

This week, I learned that shame is not an effective motivator for weight loss. Research shows it actually worsens health outcomes. Moving forward, I’ll be more mindful of how I discuss health, focusing on support over stigma. @beh353 #beh353

One barrier I can relate to is the relative cheapness of unhealthy foods. I’ve often found that grabbing a fast-food meal or an instant processed meal is more affordable than purchasing fruits and vegetables. This price discrepancy makes it difficult to make healthy choices. @beh353 #beh353

I recommend the article "The one change that worked: ditching ultra-processed foods made me feel healthier and happier" published by The Guardian. The author shares their personal journey of eliminating ultra-processed foods. The Guardian is a known reputable news outlet. @beh353 #beh353

One fad diet that caught my attention is the Keto Diet. It focuses on low-carb, high-fat intake to push the body into a state of ketosis, where it burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. Many people report quick weight loss on the keto diet, but is it sustainable long-term? @beh353 #beh353

For a sandwich I could swap white bread for whole grain, mayo for avocado, and add spinach & lean protein for a nutrient boost. Instead of cereal in the morning I could scramble eggs with veggies, serve on whole-grain toast, and top with avocado for healthy fats. @beh353 #beh353

These are great options especially for a big crowd of people. I personally had nachos with dip, and it is awesome for events like the super bowl. @beh353 #beh353

I started my morning with steak and eggs. Then for lunch I had a ham and cheese sandwich with mayo. For an early afternoon snack I had some veggie straws. Then for dinner I had tacos which included sour cream and shredded cheese. I think my recall was accurate, but it wasn't perfect. @beh353 #beh353

Thanks for the information, Thomas! Having a healthy heart and brain are obviously very important so incorporating these foods in our diets is something we should consider. @beh353 #beh353

This week for micro and macro nutrients I wanted to write about sugar. Sugar is everywhere in a variety of foods. One fun fact about sugar is that it has no nutrients only energy. @beh353 #beh353

One thing that stood out to me that I will look for when reading nutrition resources is how social media does not care if it is true if it is interesting enough, they will publish it. When reading nutrition resources, I want to also look out for how much social media pushes it. @beh353 #beh35

I'm a Radiography student 2025. I needed an elective and nutrition seemed the most interesting. In nutrition I am most curious about how the body takes different nutrients and where/how they are used. Healthy eating=discipline. My favorite food is sushi. @beh353 #beh353
