Framing, New York Times, framing... When you win an absolute majority (50.4%), you are *entitled* to deliver on your mandate, it's got nothing to do with being"emboldened" (like a... radical, right?)

As I was saying. I dedicate this prize ... to President Trump. Very smart - and probably not what the Nobel committee was expecting. She can't travel to receive the prize. Will she ask Trump to receive it on her behalf?

Interesting juxtaposition.

Btw, Kiplinger says the US health life expectancy or HALE is 63.9 years, according to WHO. That is the average age a person is expected to live in good health without having any chronic diseases or significant disabilities.

Another exhibit to file under: conventional wisdom is always wrong. Counterbalancing factors have prevented tariffs to cause stagflation so far

Krugman hits it on the nail: "In truth, plutocrats will hardly suffer any consequences from their failure to buy this election — other than feeling frustrated over the fact that they did in fact fail to buy it."

A key point ⤵️

This is quite embarrassing. Philip Hammond, Penny Mordaunt, Sajid Javid, Thérèse Coffey, I could remember the faces, but not the names. Others, like Raab, I had thankfully completely forgotten.

Fascinating for tax nerds. Punitive tariffs (assuming they last...) could upend the rationale for transfer pricing, the egregious practice whereby multinationals pay royalties to a low-taxed foreign entity to "use" the intellectual property they created in the first place
