Reminding me of why I went to criminal justice for career and for the past decade my uncontrollable curiosity for people, knowing them, working with them, and observing & enjoying the chemistry from all sorts of interactions. I am never like the majority but i am always alive and real inside.

And a group of students (high schoolers?) passing my the opposite street were cheering and screaming for his performance. The guitar person stopped and waved both hands at the students. Falling leaves were dancing in the wind.

Just immediately so moody and almost teary. It was so beautiful.

Starting my career with restorative justice, I saw many people falling into the system have a broken ties with their communities. Programs that work out often function like glues by remanding people’s social relationships and helping them on personally. This social and personal touches matter.

of this battle for changes with our beliefs rooted in evidence and experience. A research shall push us closer to the completion of this puzzle and/or lead us one step closer to improvements in policies, laws, communities, or personal lives. Social research should not be bounded by "objectivity"

Not entirely because major PDs are not reporting crime statistics to UCR in recent years, and the lower participation rate may cause a biased estimate. It's interesting that NCVS give a similar story about property crimes but somewhat diverges on violent crimes.
