Today is NO KINGS day, in which millions of people gather against right wing extremism and fascists in government, who'd attempt to run democracy and the last vestiges of freedom into the ground.
In a related story, King Charles was seen crying as he questioned his own existence like a little bitch.

Sometime between the fall of 1963 and the late summer of 1964, the actor and photographer Dennis Hopper stopped at an intersection in L.A., took out his Nikon, and made history.

Our traditions here span untold millennia.

A parade for the President of the United States should never be allowed in this country. He does not recognize its people or its past.

This land, known to you as Los Angeles but to my Acjachemen ancestors as Yaang'na, has been ours for well over twelve thousand years.

There was a rather charming trend in the 1910s to introduce the actor at the beginning of the film by showing them first in their street or evening clothes and then dissolving into the costume of their characters. Here we see recent stage import William S. Hart become a bandit in THE BARGAIN (1914).

As much as I like the members of Coldplay and U2 as people, I don't think AppleTV or writers from wherein should inject them into perfectly good scenes. Especially at the funeral of a main character in a great show. It's utterly ridiculous, disgusting and insults the art of writing and creativity.

Marriage: Recognized By The State or doesn't EXIST
Housing: Recognized By The State or doesn't EXIST
Personhood: Recognized By The State or doesn't EXIST
The idea that a state can stop us from being married, housed or people is an insult. Especially when it does nothing to change for the sake of it.

Pope Francis has died.

This isn’t just a moment of transition. It’s a period that may force the Church to confront an uncomfortable truth: The spiritual center of Christianity is shifting, but the power center has not.

Pope Francis, who died today at 88, was the antithesis of a strongman. “He was the model of the world leader as a shrewd, searching, and practical man who faced hard choices in vexing circumstances, and responded humbly,” @paulelie.bsky.social writes.
The Down-to-Earth Pope
In a historic moment characterized by autocrats and would-be autocrats, Francis was the antithesis of a strongman.
