Saw this on Facebook and thought it was a bit premature. Ask again in January so I can say "the Aussies".

Eagerly awaiting the ashes.

Opened the batting, cruising nicely, already picturing the ton.

Then came the bright idea: unleash a sweep, a shot I play about as well as karaoke in Latin.

Missed, lbw for 19. Another majestic innings cut short by my deadliest opponent: overconfidence.

Ahhh village #cricket 🏏🤷🏻‍♂️

Mighty excited for the new T20 kit next weekend. We're really close to our main sponsor, they truly do get us through our matches

Today’s Peak District cricket forecast:
Cloudy with a chance of me chasing the ball into a dry stone wall.

It's Saturday once more! Bruised and battered from nets earlier in the week, opening the batting against another mighty village squad today.

What will it be? Century or duck? To bowl or not to bowl?

Wicket like a mattress or wicket like a road?

One thing's for sure, CRICKET CRICKET CRICKET.

I can barely walk.
My wife's packing her bags.
I'm prematurely balding and overweight.

But at least I didn't have to do fine-leg to fine-leg today, and that's what really matters.

After my century last week, success was almost guaranteed for today's hearty game of cricket in the middle of the Peak District.

Not for me though. Three ball duck. Gotta love those village wickets.

Next week, we go again. Double century on the cards.
