Single, childless cat lady. And for this I am apparently contributing to the downfall of civilisation. Not sorry.
1. I am (supposedly) on a healthy eating regime.
2. My colleague has gone on holiday and left me with 2 boxes of Fox's biscuits to take to the food bank collection at work next week.

The inevitable result of these two facts is that I need to buy a replacement box of biscuits at the weekend...

Spending my day in the least churchy church imaginable. Dedicated to the true god of the 21st century - making money.

Anyone know who the patron saint of conferences is?

Managed to get a picture of the little goblins looking relatively normal, and not knocking seven bells out of each other, for a change. #Caturday

FFS, not just the tyre, but the wheel is buggered, too. Sternly worded email to the council is imminent!

(And before anyone asks, no I wasn't speeding, and no, I don't wash my car)

Thanks to Fenland District Council's amazing highway maintenance programme, it looks like I'll be buying a new tyre. Some of the fen roads are barely driveable now.

Even the bin and bollards are respectful*.

*Definition of the word respectful appears to be fluid this time of year...

Hard to put into words how far Whittlesey has succumbed to Poppy Derangement Syndrome, but definitely one for @remembrancewatch.bsky.social!

Knitted service people, land girls, a huge soldier - with knitted pigeon! Even a purple knitted horse.

#31DaysOfGraves Day 31 – Memento Mori
This is not the clearest, but it looks like a person lying on their death bed, holding what could be a skull, so I’m going with it!
The writing is worn, but it's to Sophia, wife of Thomas Mays who died 15 Sept 1859 at 36 and Thomas who died 13 Feb 1894 at 72.

#31DaysOfGraves Day 28 - Column

Do you think your employers would pay for your grave monument? Well, that’s what
happened to William Bavin Parrott. This majestic broken column was erected by the
Peterborough Co-Operative Society in recognition of 22 years faithful service as general manager.

#31DaysOfGraves Day 27 - tree

We've got a lot of trees in Broadway cemetery. It's a real urban nature's paradise. See if you can spot the squirrel!

#31DaysOfGraves Day 26 – Figure

The headless, cloaked figure of nightmares!

To John Jamblin (died 1894 aged 81), his wife Ann (died Nov 1887, aged 73) and their son George (died 1886, aged 36, possibly in South Africa, although I can’t confirm this).

Marion was indeed killed by a train at the level crossing. Her death provoked fury in the city and, despite the protestations of the railway company that it was perfectly safe, a subway was demanded, and eventually one was opened on 14 December 1885.

#31DaysOfGraves Day 24 – Unusual animal

Meet our slightly odd-looking lamb! This grave is for Marion Ann, the second wife of Horace C Dunn, who was killed at the Thorpe Road level crossing, January 7 1881, aged 27 years.

Buckle up kids, this is quite the story! 🧵
