So I saw this....trend? Challange? That is posting one book a day for 20 days that has influenced you. Now it's NOT supposed to include a review or comment. But screw that.
This is my first. And the reason it influenced me is it started me down the rabbit hole that is the disaster of Shamanism.

Writing Issue:
I was told using passive voice made your character weak and should be avoided. And that "was" often indicated passive voice.
So I try (and fail) to avoid "was". How do I write past tense without "was"? Is there a rule or trick I wasn't taught or don't remember?
