The overreaction from both the right and center left about Mamdani getting elected is going to lead to real whiplash when NYC ends up being basically the same to your average person. Just maybe a little cheaper.

Like, this isn't Man in the High Castle. He just wants to make buses free.

A child singing "I need the Rizzler" to the tune of "I need a Hero" just nearly fucking killed me.

I don't want to "maximize shareholder value", I want to make my silly little posts and play video games.

Lately I've been recommended Youtube shorts of clips from movies and TV shows that have been run through this terrible AI filter to make them... I don't know, look more like shit? It genuinely looks awful. Faces too smooth, contrast too high, color too oversaturated.

It sucks so much. Please stop.

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

The Rapture definitely happened, but only to a dude named Craig in Wichita, Kansas. He was the only one who got it right.

When I was a teen, I was really into the Pendragon series of young adult novels. I've forgotten almost all of the plots at this point, except for one: The Reality Bug. In it, the main character tries to save a world that is dying due to its residents preferring to live in a perfect virtual world.

Alien: Earth reinforces my belief that we need to go back to crunchy, analog tech. Sleek and modern is lame, give me buttons and knobs and wires. Let me twist dials and flip switches. That's where life is.

Pro tip: when you finally defeat the difficult boss in front of the Bell Door in Silksong after over an hour of attempts, make sure you walk away from the clearly telegraphed explosion that the boss will do as it dies! Definitely don't stand next to the dying boss with only one health left.

There's something about film photography that just feels so nice. I love having a good camera on my phone, but there's just something so genuine about stuff shot on film. It feels lived in.

One thing I've noticed from seeing a glut of AI generated stories on Tiktok is how they all sound exactly the same. The same structure, the same cadence, the same descriptions. The stories may be different, but it all feels so familiar that they all blend together into sludge in my brain.

Newsom is the Democrat who is most adept at punching up at the current president, in no small part because he is in many ways cut the same vainglorious cloth. He knows where to punch. People are eating it up because they love a fight, and snark feels like resistance if you are terminally online.
#USPol I'm curious where this story is coming from that Newsom is the locked in Dem candidate and our only viable option.

The primaries haven't even started yet.

This feels like some kind of trollstorm. Are we seeing this from any accounts with established reputations? Ones folks actually know?
