@inkscape.org 's default dpi for pngs being set to 96 is an absolute farce. Who is making pngs with such low resolution?! and why 96? if you're gonna lowball us at least make it an even 100!

I'm sure someone has already pointed this out, but looking at the factors of the Psychopathy Personality Inventory really reminds me of someone in particular

@jake-westfall.bsky.social @talyarkoni.com can I ask y'all a question about your 2016 paper PLOS paper about controlling for covariates?

Pro-tip for writing: When using the word "literally", it can help to specify whether you are using it literally or figuratively as in "I am literally literally so mad right now" and "My parents are figuratively literally going to kill me".

@quantitude.bsky.social if I have two continuous variables that are not significantly correlated, and then I split one of the continuous variables into two groups (e.g. through clustering or median split) and find a significant difference between groups, is there any way this is not a type-1 error?

Can anyone point me to a good use of cluster analysis in psychology research?

You've heard of paper in a day? Well tomorrow I'm trying my own variant: revise and resubmit in a day (RRiaD). Probably not gonna actually resubmit so really a RiaD. Would be so nice to get the revision off my to-do list before leaving town for the holidays! I will report back on how this all goes.

BTW if you love to trash the reliability of difference scores, I've got some bad news about your beloved group by condition interactions...

There's a 95% chance your true score is in the interval versus 95% of intervals created in this manner would contain the true score.

What I wonder is if an ordinary person would act differently when told one or the other.

@pjvogt.bsky.social loved the latest episode on about airport luggage stores. I feel like there is an explanation that y’all didn’t touch on: luggage breaks! My partner’s roller bag lost a wheel at the airport and the luggage store saved our day!

@miriforbes.bsky.social Bluesky is cool and all, but I miss the old twitter days of HiTOPers and network modelers arguing with each other... Maybe I can convince Denny Borsboom to join...

"Beginning with alpha, sir, for the lowest, and ascending in alphabetical order?"

"If only it were so simple"
