Had a fantastic afternoon visiting Haberdashers’ Hatcham College recently, where I had the privilege of engaging in a discussion with KS3 and KS4 students about a range of local and national issues - from our justice system to the redevelopment of Lewisham Town Centre.

Loved seeing John Stainer Community Primary students perform in the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall last night. Supported by MFY Accelerando & the Neville Abraham Foundation, they showcased incredible talent & energy in the choir beside other schools. #MFYProms2025

Thinking of all the veterans across the country, including the 1000 plus in Lewisham North, who have previously served in the UK armed forces.

Today, we honour their courage and sacrifice.

Had a chat with Cllrs. Will and Rudi about the re-opening of the Riverside Youth Club. Packed with fantastic facilities, the centre is open 6 days a week with activities for all ages.

Thanks to Lewisham Council, Youth First and Millwall Community Trust for making this happen. #youthworkweek

I know first-hand just how much Millwall FC does for our local community. That’s why I’m pleased to be supporting the #EFLWeekOfAction, which celebrates EFL clubs and their charities' work. ⚽

I was pleased to be able to get in a reference to the decarbonisation works at The Hermitage in Blackheath, which I visited a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks to Gordon and the team from Music Room London for inviting me to look round their rehearsal and venue space in New Cross. It was interesting to hear about the challenges faced by inner city grassroots music venues, but it's great to have such a cool place on our doorstep!

I recently had a tour of Art Hub’s new building. The studio and gallery space provides amazing support, facilities, and outreach for local artists - a real gem in Deptford’s creative scene.

I always enjoy visiting local schools, so it was a real pleasure to spend time with the pupils at St James Hatcham in New Cross last week.

I was treated to some brilliant singing, dancing & debating, plus important updates on their school projects.

I was delighted to visit the Double Jab Amateur Boxing Club at the Moonshot Centre recently. 🥊

Led by father and son duo Patrick and Michael Harris, Double Jab have played an important role in promoting wellness and discipline to the young people of our community since being founded in 2012.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Simon Faulkner, Lewisham North constituent and founder of LGBTQ+ Walnut, one of only two UK support groups for LGBTQ+ people with prostate cancer.🐿️

I pledge my support for #ProactiveforYourProstate campaign and prostate cancer screening.

Good to have a tour of the Convoys Wharf site from the developer this morning and hear an update on how plans are coming to fruition.

Pleased to see their team engaging with local stakeholders and looking at meanwhile use of the spaces such as putting on entertainment events.

Brilliant turnout this past weekend for our latest Woodpecker Community Meeting. £50,000 of NCIL funding has been secured for the improvement of Woodpecker Estate and residents' input will be key in ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of future works.

Today is World Homelessness Day - fantastic to see Lewisham getting £515K from the Government’s £84m uplift to homelessness & rough-sleeping funding.

It’ll strengthen services for families living in temp housing & expand treatment/recovery support for people sleeping rough/at risk of homelessness.
